Anthropic positions Fable 5.1 around work that spans hours, applications, files, and recovery steps. It highlights codebase-wide implementation, document-heavy analysis, browser work, asynchronous agents, and scientific problem-solving. Provider benchmarks show large gains on its chosen coding and science tasks, but benchmark setup, harness design, safeguards, and statistical uncertainty matter.
